Assistant Vice President Global Operations (Multinational Bank)

Job Description:

The Role of AVP, Team is a multi-site globally connected Operations role which includes but is not limited to the following:

Leads the Production and Regulation Review Managers and their respective teams to deliver a professional monitoring and disclosure service, within The Bank as part of Global Operations.
Be the Subject Matter Expert in Disclosure service and provide continuous guidance to the Disclosures Team, Risk Stewards, Business and Stakeholders.
Act with a high degree of autonomy and have a close relationship with onshore partners in establishing the team and developing the service management model
To ensure continuous Risk assessment and Control testing of the process and ensure the process deliverables are achieved in accordance to the agreed PLA/SLA
Focused on continuously service quality improvement by ensuring opitmisation, automation and process enhancements
To keep abreast of business strategy, regulatory developments and financial market trends will be essential when dealing with internal and external stakeholders


Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role

– not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.

Extensive Knowledge of Financial Markets Especially Equity & Fixed Income
Extensive working experience in a Global Disclosure of Interest function

Extensive Knowledge of Capital Market (Equity & Fixed Income)
Detailed understanding of all lines of business who have an obligation to meet which includes Private Bank, Trust business, Global Banking and Markets, Asset Management, Insurance and Retail Banking
Ability to understand and interpret disclosure obligation globally
High standards of both verbal and written English
Detailed understanding of the trading life cycle (Booking Models, source systems, data feed structure) and relevance to the disclosure systems and operational processes.
Attention to details and good analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, to include and limited to the 1LOD- Risk Owners, 2LOD – Regulatory Compliance and other internal stakeholders (e.g. Internal Legal, External Counsel, 3LOD – Audit, COO Functions, HOST)
Ability to interact and maintain strong professional relationships with the Competent Authorities
Excellent time management and prioritization of tasks
Ability to deal with a very dynamic business where various factors will have an impact on disclosures. Nature of business is such that any error committed exposes the Group to potential breach of regulation
Proven effective team management experience and profile
Proven experience in Cost Management and Control
Ability to define strategy and have a holistic view of delivering an effective operational function
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven quick learning capability
Requires ability to effectively resolve issues arising on a day-to-day basis, with an overriding view of minimizing any breach of regulations
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex data structures in line with disclosure processes and regulations
Committed to completion of tasks
Excellent Knowledge of MS Office products and demonstrate skills of their use
Exposure to agile processes in particular to IT development of system requirements
Flexibility to work in different time zones and be location mobile

Highly Desirable

15 years of experience in a financial organization that has presence in multiple jurisdictions and trades on various venues and executes multiple types of financial instruments
Minimum 8 years of managerial experience in a role relating to shareholding disclosures across all jurisdictions and exposure to all types of obligations


Proven Experience in Senior Management roles within a Risk / Compliance / Regulatory framework / Trade Reporting
Proven experience of running a global operational function
Very strong and detailed legal knowledge of disclosure obligations
Proven evidence of dealing Executive Management (external and internal)
